After years of work and modifications to the school to meet the requirements for accreditation, the Accrediting Council for Career Education and Training (ACCET) will be here for a site visit on February 16 & 17, 2006.  This is one of the last steps that the school must undergo to receive accreditation.  During their visit here, the team members may contact you to ask you questions about the school.  Please be honest and give them any information they wish to know. 

 Accreditation will benefit everyone associated with the school and elevate the quality of the programs we offer now and for the future.  I hope that as an educator I assisted you to become the best massage therapist you could be.  I love this profession and am dedicated to helping everyone who comes to this school with the knowledge and training to succeed.

National Exam Review ( NCBTMB Category B)

Class Hours: 16 - 3/25/06 – 3/26/06

9 a.m. – 6 p.m. (Saturday & Sunday)  

This weekend workshop is a fast-paced presentation of all the information that students may be tested on for the NCBTMB national exam.  This class is open to SSOMT students and certified massage therapists.

First Recipient of the 

 Student Referral Program

Myra Jarvis was awarded $50 for her referral of a new student as part of the student referral program.  If you know of anyone interested in becoming a massage therapist and they tell us that you referred them for training here, you’ll receive $50 once they apply and complete their first week of classes.  You will also receive $300 once the student completes 50% of the program.  Congratulations Myra !!!

Debra Murphy and Robin Banks celebrated the grand opening of their business, Renew You Massage Therapy, with an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony on December 8, 2005.  Debra started the business sharing space in a hair salon.  When Robin joined her in the summer of 2005, they expanded from one to two rooms.  In November 2005 they opened their own place at 106-D S. Chestnut Street in Pooler.  Debra and Robin graduated from Savannah School of Massage Therapy in September '04.
